Gleason Lake Mid Century
This award-winning renovation creates a strong sense of place by preserving the original mid-century spirit of the home while making the most of the beautiful lakefront site. While the clients loved the look of their mid-century house and the way it was situated on a hill overlooking a quiet lake, they were challenged by the outdated interior layout and the lack of a strong connection to the outdoors. P/K responded to the surrounding context by flipping the kitchen and the living room, which preserved the home’s mid-century character while updating it to reflect the clients’ modern lifestyle.
