Set deep in the pines of Northern Wisconsin, this new cabin was designed as a lasting family retreat. The clients came to PKA with a simple brief: renovate their aging family cabin while preserving its original character. As the design evolved, it became clear that a new structure would better support their long-term vision.

Built on the footprint of the original, the new cabin takes full advantage of the sloped, lakeside site, framing wide lake views and bringing natural light into every corner. The lofty main-level living spaces connect to the outdoor patios, while a reimagined lower level offers expanded bedrooms and a flexible bunkroom for family and friends.

A favorite feature is the wall of lakeside glass that feels suspended above the shoreline, offering an immersive connection to the land and water that inspired it all.
